STAPLE PIECES TO HAVE IN YOUR CLOSET

I don’t know about you - but after ringing in the new year, it felt like the perfect timing for a closet re-vamp! Out with the old, in with the new, but also it felt right to organize what I have as well to make it easier to piece together the perfect outfits for any occasion.

If you are like me and could use a change and you’re stuck trying to determine the pieces you need vs. what you’re holding onto - let me help!

Below are some of the staple pieces I’ve recently bought, things I have, and what I have awaiting in my cart.

NEUTRALS

Even if it is not necessarily your vibe ~ to wear the simple, chic, and earth toned shades, they are SO versatile and helpful to have when you are going for a minimalistic look. They pair well with both light and dark pieces to compliment, AND can be worn all year long. Here are some of my pieces that I love and have in my closet.

OVERSIZED TOPS

These are PERFECT for layering, wearing as a dress, pairing with a skirt and tights - the list is endless. Here are a few I cannot live without. They can easily be dressed up or dressed down, depending on the accessories and pieces you choose to complete the look.

GOOD PAIRS OF JEANS

This one may be stating the obvious, but do you feel like you have SO many pairs of jeans and yet you cycle through the same 3-4 pairs because they seem to fit just right. It’s time to invest in several really GOOD pairs. Here are some that have never let me down. My favorites are from Express and Abercrombie. Very durable and they last! Definitely worth the price.

SHAPEWEAR

Bodysuits, tank tops, fitted tops -the works! I prefer neutral colors in these as well to ease the stress of matching bright colors with cool tones, but it is really personal preference! There are several on Amazon and Express that are great dupes! Here are a few I love love love, and they come in multiple colors!

JACKETS OF ALL KINDS

Denim, Faux leather, shackets, cardigans, you name it! Pieces you can mix and match depending on the weather, occasion, and the rest of your look. All put together to make for the complete ensemble. I am obsessed with throwing over a cute jacket - makes for the perfect transition from day to night! Here are some in my closet.
